December 2021 Tarot Reading

Beginning this month I am going to do a monthly "collective" tarot reading here on my blog. Unlike my one-on-one readings, this won't be a predictive type of reading, but instead, it will focus on the month's overall energy and message for everyone. This will provide each of us with a chance to do some self-reflection and hopefully encourage us all to grow in positive ways. 

What should we reflect on this month? Three of Candles. It is time to think about the things we truly want to manifest in our lives. The coming year is full of possibilities and we can start to build the life we want, but we cannot do it without intention backed by action. Let's reflect on our ideal life and what steps we can take to bring it into being. We can use this time not only to figure out what it is we truly desire but also to make a concrete plan to go after it. 

Where should we focus our intentions this month? Six of Potions. Our intention this month should be to find joy. So much joy that we are bubbling over with it! So often we rush through the busyness of the holiday season and we don't take time to slow down and really enjoy it. We often feel stressed and worn out by the time the new year gets here. It is important to stay in the moment and find the things that make us feel happy -- that could be a stroll through the Christmas lights, hot chocolate during a movie we have already seen a thousand times, or cuddling under the covers with our favorite person (or animal)! Whatever it is, it should be joyous.

What should we release this month? Ace of Potions. If we have been bottling up our emotions, and it is time to release them. Getting drinks with a friend, doing shadow work, going to therapy... it is time to do whatever we need to so we can work through and release the emotions we have been keeping inside. We may still need to work through them beyond the end of this month, but if we release the stopper now, we will have made some real progress. 

What is the message of this month? Snow. This card symbolizes the need to slow down and be patient like gently falling snow. We need to trust that everything will be revealed and happen as it is meant to. It is important to remember that impatience often leads to more obstacles. We can trust that the Universe will provide us with all that we need, exactly when we need it.
