2022 Tarot and Witchy To-Be-Read Book List

I'm going to start this post by talking about one of my favorite things on the internet: Scribd. Scribd is a subscription service, where you pay a monthly fee and get access to their entire database of ebooks, audio books, documents, magazines, and more. The reason I love Scribd more than other "unlimited" services is that they have almost every occult and tarot book I have looked for. I do think there are some improvements that could be made with the platform, but overall I LOVE it and recommend it to everyone!

If you click this link (https://www.scribd.com/g/8m6o5n), you will get 60 days free to try out Scribd and see if you like it! While this post is NOT sponsored, if you sign up for Scribd through my link, I will get 30 days free. All of the books on my to-read list below can be found on Scribd!

This post is a little late, but the following are the 12 witchy and tarot-related books that I am planning/ have started to read in 2022. After each book I list below, I will write a little blurb about what the book is about and why I want to read it. So without further ado and in no particular order, here are the 12 books on my witchy/tarot to-read list:

Tarot and Astrology: Enhance Your Readings With the Wisdom of the Zodiac By Corrine Kenner

I have been reading this one for a few weeks now (to be fair I paused because I had a few other "fun books" on tap that I wanted to get through). I'm currently about a third of the way through it. It was highly recommended and it has not disappointed at all so far. It has a lot of information (definitely, need to take notes on this one while I'm reading). I'm currently trying to dive a bit deeper into astrology so I thought linking it to something I was already familiar with (i.e. tarot) was a great way to get more familiar with it.

Weave the Liminal: Living Modern Traditional Witchcraft By Laura Tempest Zakroff

This is another book I've started and am a third of the way through. The idea of weaving the liminal is bringing magick into your every day life. I love the idea of incorporating magick into the mundane and making your practice something that you are really connected with instead of something that you keep on a shelf and pull down at certain times. So far I am really liking it!

Hekate: Goddess of Witches By Courtney Weber

Hekate is my patron goddess and I have been looking for more books that dive deeper into who she is and this book by Courtney Weber came highly recommended. I've read Keeping Her Keys by Cyndi Brannen, which was really good, so I've been looking for another book dedicated to Hekate that would be a logical next read. I've heard rave reviews about all of Courtney's books so I'm very interested in digging into this one.

Tarot for Self-Care: How to Use Tarot to Manifest Your Best Self By Minerva Siegel

I have been looking for a good book that combined Tarot and Self Care (I love the The Witch's Book of Self-Care by Arin Murphy-Hiscock) and this book is by the same amazing creator who has worked on the Disney Villains Tarot, The Nightmare Before Christmas Tarot, and The Labyrinth Tarot. Self-care is one of my favorite ways to use tarot and I am hoping that this book gives me a few more things to add to my self-care toolbox.

Pathworking the Tarot: Spiritual Guidance & Practical Advice from the Cards By Leeza Robertson

I wanted to find a book that specifically talked about path working and this one has great ratings so I thought I would check it out. It has three path working exercises for each card in the deck: Intentional, Intuitive, and Wondering. I think they will provide the a great new way to connect with each of the cards in the deck.

Tarot for Your Self: A Workbook for the Inward Journey (35th Anniversary Edition) By Mary K. Greer

I have had this workbook on my "to-do" list for some time! This book was originally published in 1984 and is one of those "must read" tarot books. The description says it contains meditations, rituals, spreads, mandalas, visualizations, dialogues, charts, affirmations, and other activities. I am finally going to check it off my list this year and I am pretty excited about it.

Modern Tarot: Connecting with Your Higher Self through the Wisdom of the Cards By Michelle Tea

I read a review of this book that says it's the Millennials' guide to tarot and I am so interested finding out if that holds true. Being an elder millennial I love things that speak directly to me and my generation. I also think it will provide yet another way to look at the card meanings.

Tarot Inspired Life: Use the Cards to Enhance Your Life By Jaymi Elford

This book isn't just one that gives you the meanings of the cards, it is one that helps you learn how to use them as a part of your daily life. The amazing Melissa Cynova, who wrote Kitchen Table Tarot, reviewed this book on Goodreads and said "This book isn't a book to learn the cards, though. It's a book that will help you learn yourself WITH the cards. It's full of ways to use the tarot to help you navigate your life, and ways to integrate tarot into your day to day."

Tarot Interactions: Become More Intuitive, Psychic & Skilled at Reading Cards By Deborah Lipp

This book touts a unique perspective about how tarot cards interact with each other. It helps you develop a better understanding of the language of those interactions. It also serves to help you develop the narrative in spreads, making your readings more cohesive. One of the nice things I saw in the table of contents is that it also points to several types of interactions, not just with the other cards - with the Kabbalah, numbers, patterns, layouts, and astrology.

Astrology for Real Life: A Workbook for Beginners By Theresa Reed

Like I said earlier in this post I'm working on diving deeper into Astrology this year and this workbook is one of the most recommended. Theresa Reed is well known in the Tarot and Astrology community and this book is supposed to be amazing. It helps you to pick apart your birth chart and help you gain a deeper understanding of the different areas of astrology and how they apply to your life.

Tarot Correspondences: Ancient Secrets for Everyday Readers By T. Susan Chang

This book covers everything from correspondences with the tree of life, colors, numerology, astrology, elements, mythology, and a number of other connections. I am very excited to dig into it, but I know it is going to be a very deep read so it will probably take more time than some of the others on this list (I will most assuredly be taking notes as I go!).

Queering Your Craft: Witchcraft from the Margins by Cassandra Snow

As a bisexual witch, I am interested in reading this book to see how I can incorporate my identity into my witchcraft and spiritual path. I am hoping that this book makes me feel empowered and gives me a chance to do some introspection about my identity as a queer woman.

Once I have read all of these, I will do another blog post at the end of the year with my thoughts and my ⭐️ rating for each book. If you have read any of these books (or plan to), leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts!
